We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the peak performance, reliability, and safety of our extensive conveyor belt systems, which are critical to our continuous production operations.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with deep, proven expertise in conveyor maintenance, belt joint techniques, and rubber lagging applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on conveyor systems, including drives, rollers, idlers, and structures.
Expertly execute belt jointing using both cold and hot vulcanizing methods to ensure strong, durable, and seamless splices.
Assess, prepare, and apply rubber lagging to conveyor drums and pulleys to improve traction, reduce belt slippage, and extend component life.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures, implementing effective repairs to minimize downtime.
Conduct regular inspections of conveyor belts to identify wear, damage, and potential failure points.
Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures at all times, promoting a zero-harm culture.
Collaborate with the operations team to plan and execute maintenance during planned shutdowns.
Qualifications & Experience:
A relevant technical diploma
Minimum of 3-5] years of hands-on experience maintaining heavy-duty conveyor systems.
Demonstrable, expert-level knowledge is required in:
Conveyor Belt Jointing/Splicing (Cold & Hot Vulcanization)
Rubber Lagging procedures and applications
General conveyor system maintenance and alignment
Preferred Industry Experience: Cement, Steel, Fertilizer, Mining, or other heavy industrial environments.
Strong ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics.
